Biotheraputic Drainage
What is drainage and why it is the core of my practice

Biotherapeutic Drainage, or drainage for short, is a style of natural medicine utilizing homeopathic remedies to support the removal of intracellular toxins and improve elimination through the emunctories (organs of elimination). Very simply, we are supporting the cells in getting rid of their waste products so that they can return to their normal function, and at the same time supporting the emunctories to properly remove waste products from the body.
—Why I use drainage—
I often describe the way that I practice as “special”, and that’s because of the perspective that I use to approach a patient’s case. My approach goes several layers deeper than the conventional naturopathic/integrative approach, into the core of an organ’s cellular functionality. My philosophy and the way I think about each patient is centered around biotherapeutic drainage and emunctorology.
You may be wondering, why do we need to support a process that is inherent? Doesn’t the body “detox” on its own? Well, yes it should—however, with the ever-increasing toxic burden that we experience in this exceedingly toxic world, the truth is that our bodies simply cannot keep up. This is especially true if we’ve experienced traumas, chronic illness, nutrient deficiencies, or anything else which might contribute to the toxic burden or block the body’s ability to function properly. The modern patient needs drainage and emunctory support, it’s that simple.
—Who needs biotheraputic drainage?—
In my professional opinion the onslaught of chronic disease, autoimmunity, infertility, etc in our society is due to the extraordinary amount of toxic exposure that we experience from the day we’re born. Whether it be pharmaceuticals, injections, poor diet, environmental chemicals galore, plastic everything, extreme stress, the list goes on. It’s no wonder the human population is so sick.
This is where individualized medicine comes in. Our sick landscape is why I practice the way that I do. Each person’s physiology, terrain, experiences, and environment accumulate into a unique puzzle that must be unraveled in a personalized manner. My patients know all too well how infatuated I am with unraveling this puzzle.
—Root Cause Treatment—
I practice using emunctorology and drainage as the cornerstone of my thought process because it is the deepest, most effective way to practice true root-cause medicine. What better way to address a person’s health concerns than to remove the toxic debris (whether it’s physical or emotional) that’s causing the ailments in the first place? It is a much lengthier process than the conventional naturopathic model, and it certainly takes more work on both ends, but the long-lasting results speak for themselves.
